AT COP29 WE'LL HAND THIS PETITION TO THE AFRICAN DELEGATION

IMG-20240707-WA0096

Africa’s future is renewable, not fossil-fueled!

As extreme weather events worsen, our communities are suffering, with up to 118 MILLION people at risk of drought and floods by 2030

It’s time for our leaders to take action!

We demand that fossil fuel companies, which have profited immensely while polluting our planet, pay their fair share.

Tell the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) at COP29 to call for:

  • Investments in renewable energy solutions that empower local communities and promote energy access for all.
  • Ending all new fossil fuel projects - they are pushing people and our environment to the brink.
  • Ensuring climate finance supports vulnerable communities affected by climate change.
  • Making polluters pay to generate funds for climate action.
  • Diverting from offsetting and false carbon markets and biodiversity credit solutions.

Stop Deep Sea Mining

In Africa, where biodiversity flourishes on land and in its surrounding seas, the deep sea is a treasure trove of biodiversity and home to untold wonders and possibilities. It is also one of our best allies against climate change. But a threat is coming: deep sea mining.
