WATCH: Don’t Gas Africa - Projection on Greenpoint stadium

The more people that share this video the more pressure we can put on governments like the DRC to act. It would be amazing if you could share it on Twitter. If you're not on Twitter, don't worry, you can share it on Facebook or WhatsApp.

Big Oil and leading African ministers like Didier Budimbu of the Democratic Republic of Congo just met in Cape Town for Africa Energy Week to talk about the future of energy on the continent. So we blasted a message onto the walls of the city’s main sports stadium for them to see: Don’t Gas Africa, invest in renewables.

The DRC launched a gigantic auction of 27 oil and 3 gas blocks on huge parts of its forests including protected areas and peatlands in the Cuvette Centrale. This not only threatens the global climate and biodiversity, but exposes Congolese people to pollution, loss of their land and livelihoods, poverty, and corruption that inevitably come with the curse of oil.

We need to make sure they got the message. Will you share this video to reach more people and pressure the DRC government to protect the Congo Rainforest?
